Sharon received an undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned a doctoral degree in pharmacy from the University of Washington as well as a graduate certificate in HIV and sexually transmitted infections from the Department of Global Health. Pursuing her interest in HIV, she accepted a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado and focused her research on antiretroviral pharmacology. As a fellow, Sharon earned a Master of Science degree in clinical sciences in addition to securing research funding, developing and executing clinical trial operations, analyzing and modeling data, participating in international research conferences, and publishing numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. After her time in academia, Sharon worked as a clinical pharmacist at Children’s Hospital Colorado in the Investigational Drug Services where she managed medications used in research conducted within the hospital. Sharon began working as a medical writer in 2020 and is dedicated to the mission of conveying clear, accurate, and unbiased medical and scientific information across a variety of platforms.

Personal

Sharon Morjig grew up in the Midwest and has traveled extensively throughout the United States. From Wisconsin to South Carolina, Vermont to Washington state, and Colorado to California, Sharon now resides in the Lake Tahoe area. An avid hiker and nature lover, when Sharon is not writing, she is outdoors with her family, enjoying the mountains.
